10 : Entranceway Wall

I textured and painted the three modules that make up the entranceway wall.

The three Scenery Tiles together with the three Terrain Tiles.

They were textured with a brush-over of a glue and grout paste. They were then given a base coat of emulsion paint. Acrylic paint was washed over the models before window frames and highlights were painted, also with acrylic paint.

The ground was textured and painted to match the sample terrain tiles. The module on the left has an open arcade which is a pedestrian walkway and it has some paving slabs. The module in the middle is the entrance archway. I gave it more paving slabs and cobblestones as it’s the roadway into the courtyard. But my paving stone laying is all very rough and ready! Like the multiple use nature of the paving stone tiles, these façade walls will be useful for many a courtyard and street scene.

At the back of the modules, we have access to the upstairs rooms. There are no doors on the upper level. Any movement from room to room – and to stop upstairs movement between different buildings! – has to be agreed before a game. Similarly, access to the downstairs room is from this side as well. Because of the module’s design, the downstairs room has the opportunity of having a door to another room.

The back of the façade modules gives access to the building’s rooms.
