4 : The Courtyard’s Open Arcade

I assembled another basic building-frontage module as an open arcade.

The entrance to the courtyard is situated at the end of a cloister or open arcade that runs along the convent building that was probably once a refectory or dining hall. This open arcade gave me the idea of the open ground floor of the basic building-frontage module.

The convent’s open arcade

I think the open arcade will work well as a gaming space for skirmishes where swashbucklers dart between the pillars. Nevertheless, the open arcade for my first set-up will be only made up of just two modules – one open arcade module and the entrance module. But this is actually quite similar to the TV set that only used the end of the cloister as part of its set.

The first two modules together

The open arcade module goes next to the entrance module. I added a wall with a window to create the open arcade. The window is based on a convent window. The wall add-on can also be fixed to the front arch where it creates a ground floor room.
